  • What is the cost?
    Cost varies as factors such as time, days & accommodation types influence it. Roughly per day it can be $300-$400 per head.
  • What is the climate like in Tanzania?
    In terms of climate, weather pattern varies every year however dry season starts from June to October and wet season from November to May with January & February being a short dry season.
  • When is the best time to go on Safari?
    The best time to go on Safari actually depends on when you want to come and places to visit. The famous wildebeest migration occurs from June onwards from the Northern part of Serengeti to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Calving season occurs from December to April. Whenever you wish to come we will work hard to build your safari itinerary to ensure you get to view the best wildlife in the right parks around the time you wish to travel.
  • Is Tanzania safe to visit?
    Tanzania is one of the safest country to travel to in Africa and politically stable however you should always take precautions as you would anywhere else in the world.
  • How long before should i book my safari?
    Booking your safari as early as 7 to 10 months ensures you get your preferred accommodation. High season starts from May - September & December - March.
  • Are there International airports in Tanzania?
    Tanzania has two major international airports; Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar Es Salaam & Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) in Kilimanjaro.
  • Which airline should I use?
    KIA is the preferred airport for starting your safari. Airlines such as KLM, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Edelweiss Air, Ethiopian Airlines & Kenya Airways land here.
  • Do I need a visa?
    Visas can be obtained before journey online through https://visa.immigration.go.tz/ we recommend to do so as to avoid long queues when getting on arrival. Visa can also be obtained on arrival for most citizens by filling an entry form & payment of visa fee which is US$50. For Pakistan and USA citizens fee is US$100 Passport needs to be valid for at least (6) months after your journey date and have (4) blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps.
  • Do I need travel insurance?
    Travel insurance is highly recommended. Policy must be comprehensive covering for any reason such as flight, baggage loss, medical evacuation & cancellations
  • Do I need a yellow fever vaccine?
    All visitors above one years old travelling from or transiting through yellow fever infected areas for more than 12 hours in the past 6 days are required to present a yellow fever vaccination certificate. List of countries are found here: https://www.moh.go.tz/search?q=yellow+fever
  • Is there malaria in Tanzania?
    Please consult a physician before travelling to Tanzania for all your health issues as well as preventative medicine and vaccinations. There is a risk of malaria in Tanzania and you will probably visit areas where transmission can be higher during months of November to May so it is advisable to take precautions such as Mosquito repellent, Malaria medicine before entering the country & wear long sleeves shirt and trousers in the night.
  • Are there ATMs?
    ATMs are available in the city but limited in rural areas however you cannot withdraw in US dollars and it is limited to a maximum of 400,000 Tsh roughly $200.
  • Can I bring cash?
    Cash is preferable and most transactions can be done in US Dollars or converted to Tanzanian Shillings. Dollar bills prior to 2009 will not be accepted in Tanzania.
  • Should I tip?
    It is customary and up to guests however we do recommend you do so to supplement their salary. The following is advisable; Waiter/Porter at Lodges/Hotel - $5 to $10 per person, Safari driver guide - $15 to $20 per day.
  • Are credit cards acceptable?
    Card payments are accepted at major areas such as hotels, malls & some shops but a surcharge will be charged between 5-10% to cover clearance.
  • What should I wear & pack?
    Casual, comfortable and neutral colour clothes are recommended. Temperatures can be quite cold in early mornings and late nights. Day time is mostly warm so do pack accordingly. In the evenings we recommend long sleeves shirt & trouser, socks and repellent to avoid mosquito bites. Below is a recommended packing list:​ ​ Special Note: Plastic carrier bags for one time use are not allowed into Tanzania i.e. duty free bags, shopping bags. Zippered cosmetic bags are exempted. ​ Backpack T-shirt & Long sleeved shirts Shorts & Light long trousers Warm fleece & Waterproof jacket Comfortable walking shoes Sandals or flip flops US Dollars large and small denominations Hats Sunglasses Mosquito Repellent Sunscreen & Lip balm 3 prong square adapters (UK) Hand sanitizer Personal hygiene items Camera equipment Binoculars Flashlight or Headlamp Small medical kit with your prescribed medicines as well as antimalarial pills, cold & allergy medicine, stomach ache remedy, headache pills, diarrhea medicine and rehydration salts.
  • What vehicle do you use?
    All safari drives are conducted with a Landcruiser extended 4x4 which carries up to 6 passengers excluding driver guide.
  • What is the food like in Tanzania?
    Restaurants have a variety of cuisines and cater to western cuisine, local, vegetarian as well as Indian so options are not limited.
  • Is the water safe to drink?
    Although the water from taps are purified and treated, bottled water is recommended to drink during your stay in Tanzania. It will be provided for free during your safari drives with us.
  • What type of accommodation do you work with?
    Accommodation options vary from budget, standard & luxury options. We have options for all budgets as we work with best in each option.
  • Can you book my trip to Zanzibar?
    If you wish to travel to Zanzibar as well we can help arrange flights and hotel stays do let us know before your trip.
  • Is there WIFI?
    Many lodges, camps and hotels have WIFI available however during drives cellular reception inconsistent in some areas of the parks.
